Umanoff Pendant

Designed by Arthur Umanoff, this eponymous pendant light shines a light on the contrasts created when perfectly symmetrical, geometric brass and walnut wood components meet. The suspended design emits downward light to illuminate surfaces with its soft and cosy glow.

MEET THE DESIGNGER

Arthur Umanoff

Arthur Umanoff (1923–1985) was an American industrial designer known for his influential role in the midcentury modern movement. After studying at Pratt Institute and the American School of Design, he began working with Post Modern Ltd in the 1950s, and later collaborated with Shaver Howard and Howard Miller. Umanoff believed design should be beautiful, functional, and accessible. He used natural materials like wrought iron, rattan, walnut, and birch to craft stylish, inviting furniture with clean, tapered lines, clever details, and a timeless, understated elegance.
