MONUMENTS | In Dialogue with Time and Space
Fourteen contemporary artists explore the monumental through form, material and emotion.
Bringing together 14 contemporary artists across disciplines, geographies and materials, Audo House becomes a living exhibition space, with each artist contributing to MONUMENTS with a shared reflection on how objects shape — and are shaped by — the spaces we live in.
While all artists present works that resonate with the exhibition’s themes, four have created bespoke pieces made specifically for Audo House: Henrik Glahn, Fanny Schultz, Linda Weimann and Nicolas Makelberge. These site-specific commissions reflect the architecture and atmosphere of Audo’s interiors, responding with a thoughtful physicality that blurs the line between art, design and spatial experience. Shaped not only to belong within the space, but to quietly shift it, each work echoes the Neo-classical ideals of proportion, symmetry and restraint that inform MONUMENTS.
Alongside these new works, the exhibition features existing pieces by ten additional artists — Stine Regild, Touch with Eyes, Lucy Page, Milena King, Coseincorso, Freyja Lee, Morgan Stokes, Marina Mankarios, Kirsten Schrøder and Betina Stampe. Together, they reflect a mutual commitment to material clarity, sculptural sensibility and emotional resonance.
A reflection on the monumental — not in scale alone, but in intent — these are not monuments in the traditional sense, but living ones: intimate, intentional and deeply connected to the spaces they inhabit.
Come by Audo House at Aarhusgade 130, Copenhagen and explore the exhibition in regular opening hours.
