Designer Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen

Description

The series of limited edition prints are created by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, architect, art director, and photographer based in Copenhagen. Jonas shares his passion for phenomenology—the philosophical study of human experience— with clients that range from established design brands to international magazines. Trained at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Jonas mixes his spatial sensibility and understanding of shape with conceptual thoughts and visions that bring creative projects to life.

About the series: The photography addresses nature’s imperfection as an expression of old and new, of purity and impermanence. It is guided by its inherent sense of harmony in a celebration of it. Images depict bodies and spaces: bodies measuring their surroundings, their spatial properties, their materiality, and their scale and distance. From eyes to skin and muscles, they perceive and understand surroundings on a multisensory level while spaces emerge as living voids defined by their additions and deductions: The unseen matter and shapeless absence surrounding defined objects.

About the print: The Dialogue series are archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle Museum Etching 350 gsm. Museum Etching is a natural white cotton art paper with a coating specially optimized for FineArt printing. This heavyweight textured paper does not contain optical brighteners, and the finely textured surface with light felt structure adds depth and a three-dimensional effect. Combined with the pure cotton base, this creates a wonderfully soft tactile feel and artistic impression. The acid- and lignin-free Museum Etching meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance and is ideal for producing photographs and artworks.
